TAPS Program Sparks Health, Joy and Connection Among Older Adults
United Way BC’s Therapeutic Activation Program for Seniors (TAPS) enriches the physical and mental well-being of older adults through a range of therapeutic physical and recreational activities, accompanied by nutritious lunches, all within a trusted social environment.
The TAPs program aims to enhance the physical and mental well being of older adults by offering therapeutic physical, educational and social activities with nutritious lunches in a trusted social setting.
What does TAPs provide:
- One on one social and information support via phone or in person
- Physical activities: chair yoga, dance and exercise class
- Educational Activities: arts & crafts, health workshops & digital literacy with one on one support
- Social activities: Bingo, mind games, cards,
- Lunches
- Coordination of Transportation services
This program is for seniors who are:
- Aged 65+
- Residents of the Sooke Region
- Experiencing minor health issues (memory, mobility, vision, etc.)
- Looking for friendship and community connection
- Able to participate independently in programs
THIS PROGRAM IS FREE OF COST IF YOU ARE ELIGABLE, BUT PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED
We offer TAPS throughout the Sooke Region.
